Screws, Nails, Crimp Connectors

We recommend using screws to do your fastening for your entire lightning protection installation because they don't bend. They must be stainless steel and are not too common to find. At any connection point where you are splicing conductor cable together we highly recommend using Bolt Tension connectors rather than the crimp style. We find the crimp style can let loose rather easily and it is hard to get a good crimp bite on the conductor cable. It should be able to withstand a 200 pound pull test.
